The son of a former Blessing Hospice & Palliative Care patient has organized a benefit for the service that provides end-of-life care to patients in their homes and support to the patient’s family members and other loved ones.

Brad Reiner will host the benefit at the Quincy River House at Front and Payson, on Sunday, August 23, from Noon to 5 pm.  The benefit will feature smoked pulled pork Tennessee burgers, sides and chips for $6, raffles, door prizes and a silent auction.  Live music will be provided by the Matt Roberts Blues Band with all musicians invited to attend and join a jam session during the benefit.

Anyone with items to donate for the silent auction is encouraged to contact Reiner at 217-506-0488.

People who cannot attend on August 23, but would like to support the benefit with a donation can mail a check made out to The Blessing Foundation to Blessing Foundation, PO Box 7005, Quincy, IL, 62305-7005 and write “Hospice 8/23/15” on the memo line of the check, or drop off a check at the Foundation office, 1121 Broadway, Quincy.  Online donations can be made at blessinghealthsystem.org/donate.

Sponsors of the Blessing Hospice & Palliative Care benefit include Haubrich Enterprises, Rinella Company, Mississippi Belle, Kelly’s, Pizza Hut, O’Shea’s, Jed’s, Cedar Club, The Place and Y101 radio.
