6 in St. Louis, Missouri Missing Due to Cult Activity?
The St. Louis, Missouri area has been trying to solve a mystery and it was just featured on the new version of America's Most Wanted. Are 6 missing from the Gateway City victims of cult activity? That's what the FBI and other investigators are trying to find out.
The FBI in St. Louis recently shared details of six missing persons from Berkeley, Missouri that have been missing since August of 2023. Their case was one of the first ones featured on the new Fox show America's Most Wanted: Missing Persons.
The FBI in St. Louis are looking for Ma’Kayla Denise Wickerson, her daughter Malaiyah Wickerson, Mikayla Thompson, Gerrielle German, her son Ashton Mitchell, and Naaman Williams. They were last seen at Quality Inn Hotel at 55 Dunn Road in nearby Florissant, Missouri.
The 6 were reported missing after a welfare check revealed they had disappeared. There was no sign of foul play, but there were indications that the group left in a hurry. There was food in the microwave and clothes in the washing machine. Investigators found just one cryptic clue. They found a message on a mirror written in lipstick that said "I am that I am".
Ma'Kayla's mother said that she worked as an investment banker prior to her disappearance. She began what her mom called "a spiritual journey" which caused her to suddenly quit her job. She told her mother that she was no longer family. Soon after, she and the other 5 were gone. Comments that were left on social media indicated that all were a part of an online cult.
