Bed, Bath & Beyond is Closing 6 Illinois Stores But NOT Quincy
If you haven't heard, Bed Bath & Beyond has announced they will be closing many stores as part of a reorganization. They just provided a list of 6 more Illinois stores that will be closing their doors, but Quincy is not on the list.
NBC Chicago was one of the media outlets that shared the updated list of Bed, Bath & Beyond store closings. Their new closing list includes the following Illinois locations that will be closing by the end of 2022:
6132 Grand Avenue, Gurnee Mills Mall, Gurnee, Ill.
915 East Golf Road, Schaumburg, Ill.
2850 Plainfield Road, Joliet, Ill.
2056 North State Route 50, Bourbonnais, Ill.
Fairview Center, 6611 N. Illinois, Fairview Heights, Ill.
University Mall. 1265 E. Main Street, Carbondale, Ill.
According to CNBC's story, Bed, Bath & Beyond will be closing a total of 150 more stores. They referred to these locations as "lower producing" as they say sales have declined over 30% over the past 2 years.
It's worth noting that there are no Missouri locations closing as of this writing. That doesn't mean that Bed, Bath & Beyond won't add closing locations in the future, but the stores not mentioned now at least have a chance to turn around their sales to keep their doors open.
