A bear thought he was gonna have a late night chicken snack. Little did he know that a woman's doorbell cam was in the process of alerting her to the threat so she could unleash an unexpected bloodcurdling scream.

Doorbell security cameras are all the rage and that includes chickens. There's no mention of exactly where this chicken-hunting bear showdown happened. Here's how Ring described what happened when this big beast try to acquire some feathered friends:

When Hallie woke up in the middle of the night from multiple alerts from her Ring Floodlight Cam, she checked the Ring App and saw a bear trying to get into her chicken coop at her home. She immediately jumped to a window and scared it off from a safe distance.

If you question a bear's determination to get to a food source, watch him actually try to eat the chicken coop.

This woman was wise to scream from the safety of her home. The bear was startled and decided to flee. Once a bear knows a meal is this close, sometimes it's not so easy to convince them to move on. However, this lady's scream at the same decibel level of a plane preparing for takeoff did the trick.

Not everyone can afford a security cam for their chickens, but it's obviously handy if you have the coin for it.
