The month of April is National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. In honor of that the Advocacy Network for Children staff planted pinwheels at its main office at 1420 Harrison Street in Quincy. The pinwheels are in honor of children who have been abused and neglected or have lost their life to abuse.

National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect and promotes the social and emotional well-being of children and families.

During the month of April, as well as throughout the year, communities are encouraged to increase awareness and provide education and support to families through resources and strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect.  By rallying our neighbors, businesses, schools, friends and families, a difference can be made in the lives of these children.
