Annual Quincy Classic Boat & Outboard Show This Weekend

Quincy Boat Club will host its 16th Annual Quincy Classic Boat and Outboard Show this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Over 150 participants are expected from around the country bringing 50 to 70 classic boats from the 1940's, 50's and 60's to Quincy.  

Boats will vary in size from small runabouts to 50' wooden Chris Craft Cruisers. Besides the boats, antique and classic outboards will be featured dating back to the early 1900's.  The public is welcome to come see the classic boats and outboard motors at the Quincy Boat Club, just north of the Pier Restaurant.  

Friday participants will enjoy a 17 mile Mississippi River run from Hannibal to Quincy.  Boats will leave Hannibal around 1 p.m. and are expected to lock threw Lock and Dam 21 around 4 p.m.  Saturday the show will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quincy Boat Club. That evening the participants will take off in their vintage boats traveling up river to the Island Club for an evening boat ride and outing.  Boats and motors will be on display, along with a swap meet Saturday from 9 to 3 and Sunday thru late afternoon.  

Todd Young and Rob Ebbing are the show organizers and serve as host for the Quincy Boat Club.  They will feature up to 8 of their own classic boats from their collection.  The most recent restoration they completed is a 1946 Garwood 15' inboard boat.  A popular boat after World War Two, this is a rare boat with very few still existing and still running. 

Classic boats are expected from the Chicago area as well as various Iowa and Missouri locations.  The show has had participants over the years from as far away as Minnesota, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.
