Amusement Park Could Bring 500,000 Visitors to Missouri in 2024
It's still just a vision, but it is a vision with specific plans and if they become reality, it could be an amusement park that brings a half million new visitors to Missouri as early as 2024.
In case you missed the original announcement a few months ago, the project is known as the Oasis at Lockport and it's a grand plan. The press release estimates that the total cost will be $300 million dollars featuring 20 acres of amusement rides plus hotels, restaurants, marina, boardwalk and a 200 foot tall observation wheel. Expect the amusement park itself to include a lot of roller coasters and thrill rides.
The planned location is near Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Since the original announcement, any plans for breaking ground soon?
Skyview Partners said they hope to break ground sometime in 2023 which would allow the Oasis at Lockport to open as soon as the summer of 2024. They quote Missouri's lieutenant governor as saying that the project could bring 500 jobs and 500,000 new visitors to Missouri. If accurate, that would be a mammoth boost to an already thriving Osage Beach area.
You can follow the official Oasis at Lakeport website for future updates which will hopefully include an official ground breaking sooner rather than later.
