Eerie Photos of Abandoned Missouri Amusement Park Frozen in Time
This place used to be a place of summer fun for many in Missouri for the better part of a decade. Sadly, it closed its doors 17 years ago and has sat abandoned ever since. Photos and a video show what remained of this amusement park that seemed almost frozen in time.

Celebration City opened in Branson, Missouri in May of 1999. You might remember it as Branson USA. No matter the name in your memory, this Missouri amusement park shut down for good in October of 2008. I remember that Celebration City was different than Silver Dollar City and Six Flags since it didn't open until later in the afternoon. By the mid-2000's, it had more than 30 rides. I think Roaring Falls was the last ride that didn't open until Celebration City's final year in 2008. My mom and dad took me to Branson on their vacations in the 1970's and 1980's so Celebration City was not in existence then. That's why I don't have any first-hand experience with what used to be Celebration City. It's obvious that this park did have some unique experiences to offer, but with Silver Dollar City just down the road, it's hard to compete with what many believe is the greatest amusement park in America. That's likely why it ended up being abandoned with only memories left for those that entered its gates during the early 2000's.
