It seems like we're seeing an increasing number of UFO reports this year. According to the official UFO reporting website, there have been 44 cases in Illinois so far in 2021 including sightings in Quincy and Payson.

The go-to site for UFO reports is National UFO Reporting Center. Individuals can submit reports of anything strange they witness overhead. In 2021 so far, there have been 44 official reports in Illinois. Many can be explained away as Starlink satellites. They are identifiable as a row of lights moving at a uniform speed most often seen at night.

Others are perplexing including this August sighting near Tinley Park, Illinois where a number of small objects keeping moving in and out of the clouds.

I did notice 2 very local reports. One was in Quincy in April and the other was in Payson in March:

NASA offers some possible explanations for how you can know that you're seeing a real UFO and not something normal. They offer "rocket launches, comets, military jets, weather balloons, sounding rockets, satellites, meteors and fireballs, experimental craft (if you are lucky) and odd clouds" as natural phenomena which MIGHT explain what you're seeing. Many of the 2021 Illinois UFO reports probably include one or more of those things. Others definitely do not.

If this sort of stuff interests you, might want to bookmark and check the National UFO Reporting Center website for Illinois sightings every now and then. Perhaps you'll have something to share yourself at some point.

What are these UFO's up to? The truth is out there.
