43rd Annual Tom Sawyer Days Pet Show Set for July 2nd

Before you know it Tom Sawyer Days will be happening in Hannibal and one of the fun events is the 43rd Annual Tom Sawyer Days Pet Show at Central Park. In past years, I had the wonderful opportunity to be the Master of Ceremonies for this event which features way more than just dogs and cats.

F&M Bank and Trust Company sponsors the event and has all 43 years. They would love for every child under the age of 13 to get their pet ready for the Pet Show. Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 2nd at the Central Park Pavilion in downtown historic Hannibal right off Broadway.

Registration begins at noon with judging starting promptly at 1 p.m. The event is free to enter. Even though the event is for children thirteen years old and under, everyone is welcome to sit under a tree in the shade and enjoy this fun event.

Open to all well-mannered pets, whether it is a dog, cat, rabbit, ferret, gerbil, or iguana. This year’s Pet Show categories will include Best Tom, Best Becky, Best Dog, Best Cat, Most Unusual Pet, Best Dressed Pet, and Best Trick. Winners in each category will receive an award and a Pet Show t-shirt. Participation prizes will be presented to each contestant as well.
