I have eaten at some really fancy restaurants, and they have all been amazing. However, none of them offer a $350 peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

There is one Chicago restaurant offering just that. A regularly made PB&J, however this one is decked out with gold leaf bread, and imported ingredients around the world, this is why it’s expensive. According to foxnews.com,

...West Loop restaurant fittingly called PB&J (Pizza, Beer and Jukebox), is made with “toasted edible gold leaf bread,” “all-natural peanut butter,” manuka honey from New Zealand, and “the world’s most expensive” seedless redcurrant jam from Maison Dutriez in France...

The sandwich idea came from two restaurant owners who notice that each of them had an expensive version of a PB&J so they wanted to one up each other. The decided to come up with this new version of the PB&J sandwich, and all proceeds will go to local charities in Chicago. At least you know that your money is going to a good cause.

As much as I love to help charities and PB&J’s, I think I’m going to pass on this sandwich. I’ll just keep to the homemade PB&J’s.
