I suspected it all along, but now there's a map I've found that seems to prove that the state of Wisconsin is the real world home of The Simpsons after all.

I'll admit this is a bit of a rabbit trail, but please try to follow me on this theory. I came across this interesting conversation on Reddit which included a map that proves Wisconsin is The Simpsons with science. It shows the most efficient route between towns named Springfield.

But, I've always heard that The Simpsons was based off of Springfield, Oregon...Wikipedia says not so fast. It says that creator Matt Groening initially named the show after his home area in Oregon, but that's not where he eventually envisioned it.

There's one more piece of evidence and that's all the many times that Wisconsin has been mentioned on The Simpsons. The fact that Homer's lifestyle fits Wisconsin so well (and Bart's behavior is very Milwaukee) just helps build the case that Wisconsin really is The Simpsons and The Simpsons really are Wisconsin. Change my mind...
