Missouri & Illinois to Have Coldest & Snowiest Winter in Decade?
As we get closer to winter, the computer models are taking a new look at what we can expect and the latest runs infer that Missouri and Illinois could experience one of the coldest and snowiest winters in decades.
This new update from the Direct Weather YouTube channel was just shared recently - only hours ago. Since I am NOT a meteorologist, I'm always hesitant to try and explain what a real meteorologist is forecasting, but I think I can break this down into a somewhat simpler explanation.
Keep in mind the current computer models only show us between now and January of 2025. This model shows how arctic blasts are expected to drop our temperatures way below normal.
This is the expected weather pattern for precipitation. It shows moisture coming out of the southwest over Missouri and Illinois which is the traditional track that brings snowfall unlike the previously predicted La Niña which would have moisture from the northwest.
Overall, this is the expected temperature difference compared to a normal winter that the model now shows with Missouri and Illinois being in the extreme chill zone.
While I try to be helpful, this is one of those cases where I recommend you do not rely only on my words and discernment, but watch the full explanation as to why the models seem to show Missouri and Illinois could be in for a chiller of a winter. Maybe.
