Depending on where you are, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Warnings for portions of the area.

Most of the region is under a Winter Storm Warning from 3 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday.

The watch area includes Adams, Brown and Pike counties in Illinois, along with the Missouri counties of Knox, Lewis, Shelby, Marion, Monroe, Ralls and Pike.

The counties in the watch area can expect 4 to 7 inches of snow through Saturday. The precipitation is forecast to start as rain in the early afternoon Friday, changing over to all snow by late afternoon and continuing through mid-morning Saturday.

Also under a Winter Storm Warning are Clark County, Missouri and Hancock County, Illinois from 9 a.m. Friday until noon Saturday.

Their forecast calls for five to eight inches of snow, beginning around midday and running through about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Audrain County, Missouri is under a Winter Weather Advisory from Midnight Friday till 6 p.m. Saturday, with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

The good news is that, unlike the last two weekends, there is no mention of sleet or freezing rain in either the watch or the warning.

As always, you can keep up on road conditions in Missouri by going to MODOT.org or GettingaroundIllinois.com.
