Easter Sunday wanders from March to April every year.  Have you ever wondered why that is? Well, believe it or not, it has to do with the "Full Moon".  That's right, the "Full Moon".  The long story for this has to do with the different calendars people were going by back in 325 A.D.  People then had difficulty in projecting the exact day it should be.

The short version is this. Easter will fall on the first Sunday after the first full moon that follows the first day of the Vernal Equinox or Spring.  Well Spring arrives on March 20th and the first full moon after that will be on Tuesday, April 11. So all that remains to happen is for the first Sunday to occur after both of those event have happened which would make April 16 as Easter Sunday.

Ask your Priest or Pastor if he or she knows this formula. Perhaps you can be his teacher this Easter Sunday.
