Missouri’s Weirdest Thing Involves a Golf Cart, a Bat Cave & Beer
Do not dare Missouri to be weird unless you're prepared to witness it. This is the perfect example. Yes, it really is possible to drive through a bat cave on a golf cart in the Show Me State and obtain beer while doing it.
Atlas Obscura is one of the internet's proudest places for documenting the strange things in our society. For Missouri, they consider this experience the apex of what can be done in our state. They say (and I quote) "If there's another drive-through golf-cart bar in a bat-filled cave on top of a mountain, we don't know about it. " It's the Bat Bar in the Lost Canyon Cave at Top of the Rock in southern Missouri.
Inside the Bat Bar in the Lost Canyon Cave is quite the unique atmosphere. I'm hoping there is a recommendation that the refreshments be provided with a designated driver present. I'm not judging. Just hoping.
This neat cave and golf cart/refreshment option in Missouri is located at Big Cedar Lodge and really is one of the prettiest parts of the state for your eyes to look at. Nature is seriously everywhere and this part of Missouri sure makes it look good.
Once you consider how weird it really is to drive a golf cart into a bat cave, the strange factor really kicks this up to 11. Leave it to Missouri to come up with such a combination of activities that even makes Atlas Obscura be amazed. That's quite an achievement.
