As you drive by the Wavering/Moorman Park Complex entrance you may have noticed some construction work going on at the Wavering ball field. Heavy machinery and backhoes have been there for a couple of weeks now as the Quincy Park District is preparing to install a synthetic turf field at that site.  Their plans are to secure a corporate sponsor for the field in the future. Weather permitting, the Park District hopes to complete the work on that field by early November.

The Wavering Park field has been the site of many softball and baseball games over the years and will become the second field at the complex with synthetic turf. The first synthetic turf field is located at Upper Moorman Park where the Park District Little League games are held.
