There was a bit of drama recently of the feline variety in Iowa City, Iowa. A stray cat was trapped and taken to a shelter before it was known that she was a mother with kittens who were still trapped. Thankfully, workers came to the rescue as a new video share shows.

Based on the video description, this happened in August in Iowa City. Here's the backstory shared by the workers:

I arrived at work with the right tools to rescue some tiny kittens trapped under a deck. My coworkers helped me and we were able to reunite the babies with their mom who had been trapped and taken to the local shelter before we knew she had babies. Once they were safe and at the shelter, the mom was happy to have them back in her care.

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they just carry power tools as this video shows.

It's a good thing these workers were quick thinking. The Whiskas website says while cats can survive up to 2 weeks without food if they have water, the reality is kittens like this would have 3 days at most. Cats this young being separated from their mother is not a good thing. Thankfully all's well that ends well and now these workers will have a story to tell for years.
