Walmart Says It’s Closing 7 Retail Stores – 2 Are In Illinois

Business Insider just shared the news of Walmart announcing 7 store closings. Here are the 2 that are located in Illinois that will be shutting their doors in 2023:

17550 South Halsted St, Homewood

12690 S. Route 59, Plainfield

There actually is a 3rd Illinois Walmart location at 840 N. McCormick Blvd in Lincolnwood that will also be closing, but it's only a concept pickup-only store.

The announcement that Walmart is closing what are described as "underperforming stores" adds to the list of 800 retailers that plan to close locations in 2023 as also reported by Business Insider.
