Illinois Company Move Puts 48 Out of Work
The business landscape is always changing and sometimes that change is hard on workers. That's the case for 48 individuals in Illinois that have just learned they will soon be out of work as the company they work for is moving their headquarters.
There's yet another WARN notice that has been submitted to the state of Illinois employment authorities alerting them that a mass layoff is about to happen. This new submission has just been shared this week on the Illinois Work Net Center site. It states that Transcendia, Inc. located at 9201 Belmont Ave Ste 100A in Franklin Park, Illinois is about to layoff 48 workers.
Since these WARN notices can sometimes just be restructuring where employees are only temporarily laid off as they assume new positions, I always make sure I reach out to confirm that these are permanent layoffs. According to Plastic News, Transcendia is closing their Franklin Park, Illinois headquarters. The Columbus Dispatch also noted this plant closure that was announced apparently on June 6. According to the Illinois Work Net Center, the layoffs are planned to be effective no later than August 4, 2025. That brings the new total of all the workers laid off in Illinois during the past 12 months to a staggering 15,794 according to Illinois Work Net Center.
