Peculiar

Legend says it's buried near an old Missouri school house which just so happens to be named Treasure Road.

It's not easy being a law enforcement officer. You just never know what challenges you're going to face each day. Today, the Missouri Highway Patrol had an unexpected encounter as they were forced to chase down a pet turtle on the run.

When someone first told me the name of this Missouri town, I thought they were pulling my leg especially when they told me it was Peculiar. Seriously, that's the name. Peculiar, Missouri and I now know more about it than I ever dreamed possible.

For four years I drove from South Kansas City to Harrisonville, Missouri to go to work. Every day I would pass by the exit ramp to the town of Peculiar, Missouri.  Inevitably, there would be a car pulled over by the side of the highway with people taking a picture of the sign that said 'Peculiar Exit'. You have to admit, it is a unique name for a town.
