Some of you may have noticed, and some may not have, but I was gone from this radio ranch last week. I, on a whim, just decided to get in my car and go. Off I went, heading West as Horace Greeley once told us all to do. “Go West Young Man.” I know, the young man part doesn't fit. I drove and drove and drove some more.

Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore announced today that the City of Quincy has been named a finalist for the All America City honors!  In making the announcement, the Mayor congratulated our city and citizens "who make Quincy so great."

Some 32 years ago on this date, seven people in the Chicago area died mysteriously. The only common denominator in their deaths was that they all used Extra Strength Tylenol. Shortly thereafter, it was determined that they all took Tylenol capsules that were laced with cyanide. The year was 1982. That was two years before the name Dr. Michael Swango became newsworthy.

He is a convicted killer and possibly has killed up to 60 people both domestically and internationally, has had a book written about him (Quincy native James Stewart’s “Blind Eye”) and is currently serving a life sentence in Colorado.
