The construction of the St. Louis Ferris Wheel has started, and it's taller then the Statue of Liberty.

The 200-foot Ferris wheel is only a "small" attraction to the updated Union Station. Along with the Ferris wheel there will be an 18-hole mini-golf course, a children's carousel (all three opening in October), and the St. Louis Aquarium (which will open in December).

This is part of the $187 million remodel of the St. Louis Union Station, which in the past few years has lost all of the businesses and restaurants. According to bizjournals.com,

St. Louis Aquarium to open in December, St. Louis Wheel to open in October - St. Louis Business Journal

The St. Louis Wheel will have 42 climate-controlled gondolas, which can each carry eight people. A VIP gondola will have glass floors, leather bucket seats and other amenities, according to a release. The ride will last 12-15 minutes, and LHM Is projecting 750,000 annual passengers once it opens.

To be as tall as the Statue of Liberty, I can't wait, and right before the holiday season. Downtown St. Louis is going to be a site to see, and a busy place.
