It's an expensive proposition to take your family to a St. Louis Cardinals game. When you factor in tickets, parking and refreshments, it can be a big investment. There is one food that costs you more than any others, though, and you better have a big appetite along with deep pockets.

I'm going to do my best to keep my snarky attitude about this year's St. Louis Cardinals team to a minimum. (I said "try") While I have my doubts that the current leadership knows what they're doing with the roster, I have been and will always be a St. Louis Cardinals fan. I've been one all of my life and I am not changing ever.

With that disclaimer out of the way, Cheapism listed the most expensive foods you can get at a Major League Baseball game and their choice for Busch Stadium is a massive feast. Behold the The St. Louis Slinger Dog which costs a brutal $13.79.

A hot dog long enough that both ends are in different zip codes plus eggs, additional meat (because the gargantuan hot dog isn't enough meat) and practically a loaf of bread containing it. That is currently the most expensive food item you can get at a Cardinals game although it's probably only a matter of time before they start offering $15 toasted ravioli. Mark my words.

Now, back to the St. Louis Cardinals roster and management problems...
