Busy Missouri Burger Joint Closing Soon for Sad Reason

It's sadly not uncommon for restaurants to close because business is down. That's not the case for one beloved Missouri burger joint that is almost always busy, but has announced they will be closing soon for a very sad reason.

By all accounts I can find, there is no logical reason why Burger 809 in St. Louis should be closing. The reviews rave about how great their food is and they always seem to be busy.

According to St. Louis Business Magazine, Burger 809 announced they will be closing on December 8, 2025. Their report said that the Gateway Foundation was terminating their lease early and gave no reason why. It looks like even though Burger 809 will have no choice but to close their current location, they do hope to bring back the brand in another place as they have a link on their website asking for support.

Since Burger 809 has been around for about a decade and seem to have a great reputation, you'd think they would have no trouble finding a new home in the St. Louis area. Let's hope that happens as a unique burger place like this needs to live on. Sliders for the win.
