My wife lived in Wisconsin for a period of time, so it's not like I don't know a thing or two about our neighbors to the north. I'll admit it's a pretty place to visit sometimes, but should you live there? Think again (or don't). Here are 10 reasons why.

Have you heard that Wisconsin actually can be pretty spectacular during the summer months? Don't believe a word of it. Just focus on the stereotype of Wisconsin being a miserable glacier all year long instead of the truth.

It's a fact that Wisconsin is known for its cows and cheese. Forget about the fact that there is really a rich cultural background that doesn't involve heifers there. Also, what if you're lactose-intolerant? Wisconsin would be hell for that.

What do you think of when you think about Wisconsin? Farm fields and people making/eating cheese? Forget about the really nice cities of Milwaukee and Green Bay which are more modern than you think.

There are no pretty women in Wisconsin. Well, there are a few who have been described in glowing words, but that's probably just fiction, right? Just tell yourself there are only farm women wearing overalls who don't like you. That way the truth won't lure you there.

Only Oprah, Mark Ruffalo, Heather Graham, William Dafoe, Gene Wilder, Liberace and Chris Farley ever called Wisconsin home and very few people have ever heard of any of them.

Ever been to a Packer game? Everyone is so laid back there. It's too bad that there's no real enthusiasm for the sports teams in Wisconsin. It would also be cool if the Brewers would get excited about home runs or something. Oh, wait...

Wisconsin is nothing but cows. There's no really interesting wildlife in the Wisconsin woods that would add an element of danger or anything.

Ever heard of or been to the Wisconsin Dells? Forget about it. That and the many hiking trails along the Great Lakes are just a myth.

Sure, you can stare over Lake Superior and/or enjoy a spectacular display of the Northern Lights, but other than that and a dozen other beautiful outdoor places, there's nothing pretty to see in Michigan.
