I don't mean to offend the people that live in this Missouri place, but I was very surprised to see it suddenly appear among the top moving destinations so far this Spring.

One of the top moving sites on the net is moveBuddha. They are constantly monitoring moving trends and not just those who are loading up the trucks and relocating, but also those who are searching for places to move. Their new outlook for Spring 2026 shows a surprising appearance by a Missouri place in their top 25 move-to locations so far this year.

Look at you, Springfield, Missouri at #24 among the most popular move-to cities for the first quarter of 2026. Wow. When many people think of Springfield, they think of the number of times they've seen it appear in an episode of COPS.

Why are so many deciding to move to Springfield, Missouri?

All jokes aside, Springfield, Missouri is known for having a relative low cost-of-living. You're also not far from the awesome nature in southwestern Missouri and there is a small town vibe that some have described on city rating sites. Those that go to college in that part of Missouri will tell you that brings an energy to the area that a non-college town wouldn't have. There is also a growing food and art scene that I've seen some mention when it comes to Springfield.

This part of Missouri often gets mentioned for high crime rates, but it's excellent to see something positive about this underrated part of the state. All those people in moving trucks must know something the rest of America doesn't.
