You've no doubt seen many reports of people leaving Illinois over the past few years. There's a new type of departure that will begin on Tuesday according to a report that up to 200 agents are headed to Illinois to escort many from the state.

Full disclosure: I am not a political person and I don't like politics so I will not share with you a political story. But, there's no way to pass along details of what is reportedly about to happen in Illinois without almost everyone reading it from whatever political disposition they happen to have. Feel free to interpret this however you like whether this is good news or bad news to you. I'll just share the reported facts.

The Wall Street Journal which I believe to be a reputable source says that up to 200 agents are on their way to Illinois where mass deportations will begin starting Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Who will deported from Illinois and why?

The report says that those who will be targeted will be illegal immigrants who have criminal records. The agents are from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Comments from federal authorities seem to infer that if agents find other illegal immigrants while searching for those with criminal records, they will be deported, too.

How certain is it that the mass deportations will begin Tuesday in Illinois?

The Wall Street Journal story attempted to get statements from state, federal and law enforcement authorities and no one is willing to speak on record. We'll apparently find out Tuesday exactly how wide-reaching this deportation in Illinois will be or if it's a big to-do about nothing.
