Really? – Iowa’s Best Taco Comes from a Burger Joint?
There's a curious claim from the vast farmlands of Iowa. A new ranking says the best taco in the state comes from a burger joint. Really?
Disclaimer: I don't doubt that Only In Your State knows what it's talking about. They are one of the national authorities on what places in states are good at. It's just hard to swallow (food pun intended) that the best taco anywhere in the state of Iowa originates from a place known for burgers. That's what they're saying about Wood Iron Grille in Oskaloosa.
They say the "massive barbecue pork taco which will satisfy any 'cue lover". Hmm. Now you have my undivided attention. The pic they show is lucious.
It was just a few years ago that Wood Irone Grille was named the best burger in the state.
I wonder if they could pull off the triple crown of "best of" honors as I see they offer some pretty spectacular tenderloins, too.
I've driven through Oskaloosa a few times, but have never stopped to sample anything on those road trips. Perhaps I need to include them in our route next time. The lighter BLT tacos look pretty inviting.
You can check out the full Only In Your State article to learn all the many reasons why they have crowned a burger joint with the best taco in Iowa honor. They might not be wrong after all.
