Ladies and gentlemen, PIGFEST is a real thing happening in Quincy and I’m losing my freaking mind right now.

I’m a big fan of OLC’s Wingfest which usually occurs around Super Bowl time. If you haven’t been, it’s basically a wintertime event at which you see how many delicious wings and quarts of ranch dressing you can cram down your gullet in one afternoon before you literally explode. It is heaven.

I have no doubt in my mind that Pigfest—the apparent autumnal porky counterpart to Wingfest—will be just as dreamy with just a crap ton more barbeque sauce.
The kind folks at the Oakley Lindsay Center already have 2,400 pounds of pork on order and my Pavlovian meat sweats are already kicking in.

This real-life pulled pork fantasy in all its glory goes down on Saturday, November 24 which is about the time you’ll be awakening from your turkey coma, so that checks out. It’s $15 per person and runs from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Local bands Off The Wall and Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters will be there to soundtrack your carnivorous gluttony, which is a nice touch if you ask me.

We’re gonna need a lot of moist towelettes.

All proceeds from the event benefit QBAREA (Quincy Bay Area Restoration and Enhancement Association). For more information, look up Pigfest on Facebook or contact the Oakley Lindsay Center at 217-223-1000 or info@olcmail.com.
