Quincy Derby Postponed to July Due to COVID-19 Scare
Yet another event in the area has become a casualty of the Coronavirus crisis. This year's Quincy Derby, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Quincy, has been postponed and rescheduled to this July. It was originally scheduled to be held on June 19 and 20.According to Ray Wilson, the event coordinator, the Quincy Derby's Super Kids Derby for kids with special needs will be held on Friday, July 24 and the rest of the event's races on Saturday, July 25. It was originally scheduled to be held on June 19 and 20.
The Quincy Derby, formerly known as the Quincy Soap Box Derby, will take place at Bob Mays Park with the races going down the hill on North 18th Street.
