70 Illinois Workers to Lose Jobs Next Spring
If there's any good news to this, it's the fact that the workers at least have some time to plan. According to a notice submitted to the state of Illinois, there will be a mass layoff of workers as a manufacturing facility now plans to close next Spring.
The Illinois Work Center site recently posted a new WARN notice that was submitted by Ingersoll-Rand Industrial. They notified Illinois officials that all 70 workers at a Princeton, Illinois manufacturing facility will be jobless as of March 31, 2026. This is confirmed by both Yahoo News and the Peoria Journal-Star. They quote Sarra Hassell, Ingersoll-Rand vice president as saying the reason for this advance layoff notice is "to give our employees time to prepare and to allow us to support them throughout the transition,”. The company is based out of North Carolina and will reportedly move the manufacturing being done at the Princeton, Illinois plant to other facilities across the country.
This new WARN notice brings the total in Illinois who have been laid off in the past 30 days to 1,544 and 16,355 so far in 2025 according to the Illinois Work Net Center site.
