Say what you want about Missouri, but it does not lack remote places with iconic buildings. This might be one of the best examples of that. It's what many say is the most photographed mill in the state of Missouri and it also happens to be powered by a mountain.

Hodgson Mill is located in the middle of nowhere (and I mean that as a compliment). Technically, it's in Ozark County, Missouri, but it's not really near any big towns (another good thing). It is however easily-accessible as it's right off of 181 in the southern part of the state. This remarkable place was brought to mind thanks to a recent photo share on the Missouri sub-Reddit.

Hodgson Mill has survived many floods including several that were high enough that most of the building was underwater. It has literally stood the test of time (and Missouri floodwater).

Maybe you're familiar with the Hodgson Mill brand that this building represents. It's one of the most photographed places and buildings in Missouri which has thankfully been well taken care of over the years.
