I've seen some pretty wild conversations on the Missouri sub-Reddit, but this one about a lost peacock in Jefferson County, Missouri takes the cake peacock.

The question was asked on Quora and there are no easy answers other than these pretty birds aren't native to really any state, but they do end up in the wild when someone adopts one as a pet and they get loose.
