We all have medications that we no longer use yet for some reason we hang onto them. Unfortunately, by doing so, the chances increase that someone, primarily younger people, will get them and "experiment " by using them with other medications or alcohol.

As a matter of fact, the Adams County Health Department in a recent study showed that 7% of children have tried prescription drugs as a recreational tool. With that in mind, the Quincy Police Department has set up a collection box where people can anonymously deposit outdated and unused drugs with no questions asked.

The Quincy Police Department will once again be accepting unwanted or unused prescription medication and syringes at its new location at 530 Broadway. The drop off box is just inside the door of the police department lobby.

This new box will give people year round access  to drop off these prescriptions and keep them out of the hands of children.
