Most Alarming Severe Weather Danger Tuesday is Northeast Missouri
We've known there is a good chance of severe weather in both Missouri and Illinois this week and now official forecasters are saying the most alarming concern for violent storms is in northeast Missouri and Tuesday is the day to watch.
I mentioned last week that many computer models were showing the possibility of wild weather in Missouri and Illinois this week. Now, we have an official statement from the National Weather Service about what they call "the biggest area of concern" and it sits squarely over the northern part of Missouri and covers much of northeastern Missouri.
According to the latest update, meteorologists won't rule out any severe hazards and that includes strong wind, big hail and even strong tornadoes could be possible.
The severe weather is actually expected to start late Monday with some hail possible in storms that move across Missouri.
While Tuesday is expected to be the most volatile day of weather this week, the activity could continue even through Thursday as models show storms are possible then also.
It would be a good idea to pay special attention to any watches and warnings that are issued this week and especially late Monday into Tuesday. With forecasters now officially saying that northeast Missouri is the biggest area of concern, know that some type of severe weather will almost certainly develop in our part of the state.
