I think I have heard enough about texting and driving, but not so much about this!

According to the Seattle Times, some people in the far away Chinese city of Chongqing have created a smartphone sidewalk lane, "offering a path for those too engrossed in messaging and tweeting to watch where they are going." The manager of the sidewalk says it is "intended to be ironic and to remind walkers that it is dangerous to tweet while walking the street."

Pedestrians are not taking the lanes seriously, but a lot of them have been taking pictures of the signs marking the unusual lane!

This all came about from a similar experiment in Washington D. C., created by National Geographic to test human behavior. Nobody paid attention to that one, either.
