
New Warning of Big Tornado Danger for Missouri This Weekend
What we already knew was going to be a stormy weekend for Missouri now looks even more perilous. Forecasters from NOAA are now warning that parts of Missouri are now in a higher risk of dangerous tornado development this weekend.
The updates are coming fast and furious from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center. Their newest convective outlook shows that storm development on Sunday, April 20, 2025 could be explosive over parts of Missouri. The hatched red area is where there is now an enhanced risk of storms that are expected to have embedded tornado development.
How likely are tornado-producing storms in Missouri on Sunday?
The National Weather Service says confidence is high of supercell development over Missouri on Sunday. They said ALL (and they put it in ALL CAPS) storm hazards are possible on Sunday including wind, rain, hail and tornadoes.
Sunday isn't the only potential trouble day for Missouri either...
Saturday, there is a high danger of extreme flooding especially through the middle part of Missouri with many areas receiving multiple inches of rain over a short period of time.
Back to my original point, watch out for Sunday. Twice today, the Storm Prediction Center has escalated the severity of the storms they expect over Missouri this weekend and that could happen again as the weekend progresses.
