Missouri Confirms 4 New Mountain Lion Sightings Since September
The state of Missouri has listened to the people's questions and responded with confirmations of numerous mountain lion sightings in the state with 4 as recent as this September.
Missouri Department of Conservation has just updated their confirmed mountain lion sightings list and there are now many in 2025
I am not vain enough to think that my questions about Missouri being quiet about mountain lions was the reason, but I'm grateful that the state has now updated their confirmed sightings list to now include 8 that were not previously listed. My focus is on the 4 mountain lion sightings that the state has now confirmed just since this September. Here they are:
- Wednesday, Oct 15, 2025 in Scotland County - Video of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
- Friday, Oct 24, 2025 Saline County - Video of mountain lion taken by drone. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
- Friday, Sep 19, 2025 Andrew County - Photos of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
- Monday, Sep 22, 2025 Buchanan County - Photos of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
I will not do "I told you so" about this new update about mountain lions in Missouri. I have had many friends and family who have been a part of the Missouri Department of Conservation over the years and I've never met an agent who wasn't a fine individual. My original point was the Missouri seemed to be mute about mountain lions traveling across the state despite so many people seeing them. Glad we finally have the official confirmation of what we've suspected all along.
