Golf courses across the state of Illinois will be reopening on May 1st, but there will be some changes to how you play...

As Illinois is set to begin another month of a "Stay at Home" order due to COVID-19, golf courses in the state are allowed to open, following strict guidelines of course. Westview Golf Course in Quincy is one of the many courses set to reopen May 1st, they announced on their Facebook page, they will be following the strict set of guidelines laid down from the Illinois Department of Commerce however. Here are some of these guidelines...

  • Online/Telephone bookings for Tee Times
  • Players grouped in twosomes
  • NO practice ranges, putting/chipping greens where groups could gather
  • NO Golf carts, including private carts
  • Pro Shops and clubhouses remain closed
  • No snack/drink carts

From the sounds of rules like this it will keep a good amount of people away from golfing, including myself. For me golfing is all about being social with your friends, smoking cigars, renting carts, and drinking beers. And none of that goes well with these guidelines.
