Wondering what to do with your very real and quickly decaying seven foot evergreen in your living room? Quincy area Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts might be able to help you out.

The members of Cub Scout Pack #1 and Boy Scout Troop #1 are conducting their annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up program on January 6 beginning at 8:00 am (NOTE: this is the only day for the service, so plan accordingly). Cost per tree is just $10.

To schedule a pick-up, contact Quincy Fire Chief Joe Henning at 217-506-6972 and leave a message with your name, address, and (if applicable) any special directions.

According to a hugely unscientific real vs. fake tree poll we did earlier this month, more than 60 percent of you said you prefer the real thing. If that’s truly the case, the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are in for a busy day.
