Starting May 1, there will be some changes coming to Illinois as the stay-at-home-order has been extended for another 30-days. However, some businesses can now open, and face masks must be worn.

With the announcement of the stay-at-home extension, many Illinoisans are wondering what’s next. The new order comes with a few modifications. The big one, if you go into a store, such as a grocery store, Wal-Mart, or an enclosed store, you must wear a mask if you are two-years or older who can tolerate a face-mask covering.

Another modification, green houses, garden centers, and nurseries can re-open as of May 1st. As long as social distancing measures are put in place, animal grooming stores are now considered essential and may also re-open on May 1st.

If you have a college student who has not cleaned out their dorm room, universities & colleges will set up times and follow social distancing guidelines for students to pack up their things and move out. There will also be some state parks that can reopen, to find out what the guidelines are click here!
