A high-ranking member of the Columbo crime family wanted by the FBI as a person of interest in a federal racketeering case is now in custody, thanks to his not-so-smart son.

66-year-old Ralph DiMatteo is believed to be the Columbo family's consigliere, but he happened to disappeared to somewhere in Florida one day before 13 of his co-defendants were busted. The group are being charged with racketeering, extortion, and other raps relating to the infiltration of a labor union out of Queens.

He turned himself in after a photo of him chilling in a pool popped up on his son's Twitter page, just after a judge said the leaders of the family named in the indictment be held without bail.

Andrew “Mush” Russo, 87, underboss Benjamin “The Claw” Castellazzo, 83, captains Theodore Persico Jr., Richard Ferrara, and Vincent Ricciardo, all have been arrested.

DiMatteo's photo, while a great portrait that gives off the mafioso vibe that surrounds DiMatteo, ultimately will be what likely lands him in jail for the rest of his life.

Just makes you wonder how this guy avoided the feds all of these years, only to be taken down by his own dumbass kid.
