Wild Forecast Names the Week Missouri Will Get Hit By a Blizzard?

I'll say from the start that I am skeptical, but the source has admittedly been well-respected for decades. There is a new prediction that claims to know the exact week when Missouri will get hit by a blizzard.

Since I'm married to a meteorologist, I know enough about weather to know that the further you look at computer models and/or into the future, the less reliable the prediction is. That being said, there's a new winter forecast being shared by many on social media which chooses not just an overall outlook, but an exact week when punishing winter weather will impact Missouri and other midwestern states.

The "new" Farmer's Almanac says to watch out for a week late in January of 2025 for a massive snow event. There are actually two sets of days they warn everyone in Missouri to beware of:

"January 20 to 23 and 24 to 27"

They warn that storm systems will deliver "frequent bouts of heavy precipitation, as well as strong and gusty winds" and they also mention "copious amounts of snow, rain, sleet, and ice". What fun that will be if it happens.

I know that Farmer's Almanac uses multiple methods to determine what their forecast is made up of including moon phases and historical data. Knowing what I know about the current computer models makes me very skeptical that ANYONE can accurately forecast specific winter storms this far ahead of time. But, I guarantee that I will be paying attention to developing systems once we enter 2025 and can then see what real weather patterns are developing.
