How Much Window Tint is Legal? The Laws are Different in Missouri
Having grown up in Missouri, I can tell you that if something is called unusual in my birth state, that's saying something. I think the amount of window tinting you're allowed to have in Missouri is unusual, too, and you need to understand the tint laws here are different than other places.
This topic just came up again on the Missouri sub-Reddit as an out-of-stater just moved to the Show Me State and was getting prepared for a vehicle inspection. The question involved how much window tint you can legally have in Missouri.

What is the legal amount of window tint you can have in Missouri?
Since I tend to never take anyone's word on Reddit for what's legal and what's not, I checked out the Tint Laws website and here are the specifics for Missouri. Note that Missouri breaks it down by window location (of course):
- Only non-reflective tint on the windshield
- Front and side windows should be more than 35% of visible light transmission (It should not be more than 35% reflective)
- Back and back side windows can be as tinted as you want - no limits
It's important to note that I am NOT a lawyer. Shocking, I know. I would highly advise that you work with a real pro who knows what the Missouri laws are (or talk to a real lawyer) to make sure you don't end up with an awkward conversation with a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer. Saying that the guy on the radio said this would be OK will not win the day for you. Don't ask me how I know.
