Study: 2 Out of Every 5 in Missouri Feel Like They are ‘Trapped’?
My dad told me when I was a kid to appreciate my youth because that was the one time in your life when you have options. Little did I understand how right he was and that appears true for many as a new study claims as many as 2 out of every 5 in Missouri feel like they are 'trapped'.
This is an interesting new study shared by Talker based on a survey of 2,000 residents. They learned that 39% of those that responded feel like they are trapped living where they are. Translation? If you're living in Missouri, hope you're happy because leaving the state (or anywhere else for that matter) is not easy.
The crux of the problem and the concerns of the survey respondents appear to be inflation and home prices specifically. The report says that 43% of those in the survey were renting while 57% owned their homes. Both face a similar problem. It's not easy to find new and affordable places to move to.
Housing isn't the only issue as many appear to feel stuck in the jobs they're in also. The feeling that a move to a new job and/or a new place is too risky is prevalent among many in Missouri and the rest of America, too.
This was a very recent survey done by Talker, by the way, with it being completed the first week of July of 2024.
