I have watched computer models reveal incoming systems between now and the end of November with a healthy dose of skepticism. However, it does appear that there is a real chance that a 'swirling system' could bring parts of Missouri its first snow possibly even before Thanksgiving.

I saw Direct Weather just share their analysis of the GFS computer model which has some very interesting possibilities for Missouri beginning Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Note that the green is showing rain possibilities and not snow.

But this system which appears to swirl over Missouri is also bringing with it cold air from the north which makes Wednesday, November 20, 2024 show the possibility of snow. The blue is snow and the green is rain and Missouri could see both that day.

The following day on Thursday, a low pressure system is located right over the northern part of Missouri and also includes the chance for snow.

It's important to note that none of these models as of this date of this writing show any big accumulations at all. This is what the estimation of snow accumulation is between this date and November 27.

The expectation from this model shows just an inch or two for most of Missouri, but there is one area in the extreme north-central part of the state that could see more.

As I always say whenever I share content involving computer models trying to reveal incoming weather, the further out from the dates we are, the more likely that variables (and therefore the forecast) could change. My only point of showing what the GFS is showing now is to mentally prepare for the time of year when these systems will start giving us a chance of snow regularly.

DO NOT make any decisions about travel or anything important based on an outlook this far away from the dates we're looking at.
