Since I am often tasked with obtaining pizza for my family that lives in Missouri, I fancy myself an unofficial expert into the best locations in the state. The problem with the history of pizza places is I'm not an unofficial expert at math (or an official one, either). That's why I had to ask the internet robots to help me locate the 5 oldest places in Missouri that are genuine pizza places. Here are the oldest school pizza joints in the state:

I found it interesting that pizza wasn't really a thing in Missouri until Monte Bello opened in 1950. The St. Louis pizza places, in particular, became famous for their own style utilizing Provel cheese which is either a great or not thing depending on how you feel about Provel cheese. Extremely thin crust also became known as the signature Missouri pizza style. I am a fan of the sweet pizza sauce that some of the St. Louis pizza places nail.
