One Missouri Area Is America’s Most Tick-Infested
This is going to sound like bragging, but I don't mean it to be. There's one region of Missouri that has just been named the best place in America for (wait for it) ticks. I am so proud.
Ticks are a controversial subject in Missouri right now, but more on that later. Let's get to the new facts first that's just been shared by World Atlas. They named the 7 most tick-infested places in America and number one at the top of their list is...(*drum roll*)...Missouri! Specifically, the Ozarks Mountains in Missouri. They say that field surveys and public health monitoring say this part of Missouri has a highly-concentrated population of American dog ticks.
Let's talk about the big elephant in the room when it comes to ticks in Missouri
A few weeks ago, I shared a viral rumor that nefarious forces were dropping boxes of ticks on Missouri farmland. If you think I'm exaggerating this Missouri tick rumor, you should see the ongoing conversation on Reddit.
For the record, I'm not saying the people claiming ticks on Missouri farms are lying. Not at all, but I simply have not seen anyone present proof instead of just telling stories. Remember, I was born in Missouri which means you have to show me. However, let's face it. Even without boxes of ticks allegedly being deployed on Missouri farms, the state is full of ticks and the Ozarks have more than their fair share. We'd likely be at the top of the tick-infested kingdom in America without any additional tick help. Might as well embrace the crown we've been given I say.
