While I find them interesting, I specifically do not want to see a rattlesnake which means there is one Missouri place I need to avoid above all others.

For the record, I am not a snake hater. I know they have their purpose in nature, but I can't think of a good reason why I should ever meet a rattlesnake. That's why experts warn that I need to avoid one specific place in Missouri. World Atlas shared what they consider the most rattlesnake-infested locations in Missouri.

Why is Squaw Creek the rattlesnake capital of Missouri?

Not only will you find the more common timber rattlesnake there, but also the Eastern Massasauga rattlesnake which is becoming more rare thanks to habitat loss. This is the one place in Missouri where they thrive which is good news for the snake, but bad news for you if you surprise one.

I've never been that fearful of rattlesnakes compared to water moccasins and copperheads as they've always seemed more aggressive to me, but I don't plan to get close enough to a rattlesnake to find out if my theory is correct either.
